Portrait of Muen Chiu

About

I am a double-major student in Business Administration and Computer Science at National Taiwan University. I enjoy working on problems that sit between business needs and technical implementation: understanding the context, clarifying constraints, and turning ideas into practical solutions through data, process design, or software tools. My experience spans AI applications, operations analysis, workflow automation, and cross-functional collaboration, and I care deeply about whether technology can be understood, adopted, and used in real settings.

TurnDeal — E-commerce Agent-to-Agent Negotiation

Sep 2026

A marketplace negotiation layer where buyer and seller agents form personalized, backend-validated offers before the shopper makes the final choice.

  • Designed a multi-agent pipeline spanning request structuring, discovery, parallel negotiation, offer validation, ranking, and checkout confirmation.
  • Let multiple seller agents negotiate with buyer branches in parallel; synchronized rounds share only anonymized, backend-validated market terms.
  • Let sellers configure 22 commercial constraints, then used offer validation to ensure every final offer stays within those boundaries.
  • Built a responsive React interface that supports the same shopping flow across desktop and mobile devices.

I.R.I.S. — IT Incident Assistant

Feb 2026

My team and I built an autonomous multi-agent system to support IT incident analysis, root-cause investigation, and post-incident documentation.

  • Built with n8n, Google Vertex AI, context-aware RAG, and PostgreSQL.
  • Designed a multi-agent workflow for root-cause analysis.
  • Created a verifier loop to reduce hallucination by checking logs and private codebases.
  • Projected 40% reduction in MTTR through automated documentation and knowledge reuse.

WaferCopilot — GenAI Smart Manufacturing Assistant

Jan - May 2026

A human-in-the-loop decision workflow that connects wafer defect classification, explainability, SOP-grounded diagnostics, and simulation before engineers approve process adjustments.

  • Combined ResNet-18 wafer defect classification with Grad-CAM explainability and an RAG-powered LLM engine.
  • Connected visual defect patterns with simulated FDC machine logs for traceable diagnostics.
  • For simulatable defect cases, let engineers invoke a rule-based digital twin surrogate before acting on a parameter change.
  • Reduced hallucination risk by grounding recommendations in SOPs and manufacturing signals.

Bus Bunching RL Dispatch Optimization

Apr - Jun 2026

A reinforcement-learning dispatch optimization system for Taipei's Dunhua Main Line, designed to reduce bus bunching while balancing passenger waiting time and operating cost.

  • Integrated TDX route data, Taipei Bus GPS APIs, and CODIS weather data into a dispatch simulation environment.
  • Modeled departure control as a sequential decision problem and trained a PyTorch DDQN agent.
  • Balanced bunching risk, passenger waiting time, and operating cost in the reward design.
  • Reduced bunching volume by 22.9% and bunching occurrence time by 16.2% versus a fixed-headway baseline.

FashionDistill — Generative AI for Market-Aware Fashion Design

Mar - Jun 2025

I used real H&M transaction data as market signals to design a generative AI framework that predicts fashion trends and visualizes potential products.

  • Integrated LLaVA and Vicuna to produce trend-aware prompts.
  • Used 106 weeks of H&M transaction data.
  • Fine-tuned a Latent Diffusion Model with Direct Preference Optimization.
  • Improved prediction accuracy by 4-7% over baseline, supporting inventory planning and market response.

AI News Summarization Tool

Sep 2023 - Mar 2024

I developed an AI pipeline that automates daily news highlight generation through summarization, speech synthesis, and image retrieval.

  • Designed an automated news summarization pipeline.
  • Combined NLP, text-to-speech, and image retrieval.
  • Managed development milestones and module integration.
  • Built daily news summarization workflow automation with Python and APIs.

DeJeng Beverage Shop Optimization

Jun 2025

I led a 6-member team to model a beverage chain's operations, identify bottlenecks, and evaluate process improvements through computer simulation.

  • Led a 6-member team.
  • Built a computer simulation to analyze operational bottlenecks and test improvements.
  • Coordinated cross-functional discussions.
  • Simulation results showed a 70% reduction in customer waiting time without additional operating cost.

Experience

Presenting the final internship report at Trend Micro

Trend Micro

AI Engineer Intern

Jul - Aug 2026

Built self-evolution mechanisms for Trend Micro's internal AI agent platform, spanning experience-to-skill pipelines, memory lifecycle management, workflow orchestration, and real-pipeline regression testing.

  • Built two human-reviewed skill-generation pipelines that turn successful AI-agent task traces into reusable operating playbooks; in a controlled test, they reduced tool calls by 45% and completion time by 67%.
  • Built a memory lifecycle that moves information from active use through cooling, expiration, and deletion, with revival and deduplication mechanisms; integration tests against a real pgvector database confirmed that state transitions and data operations behaved correctly.
  • Hardened the workflow engine with step budgets, terminate-and-resume, scheduler triggering, and human gates, while designing cross-agent orchestration with dynamic fan-out.
  • Self-initiated a real-pipeline regression framework that used an LLM as the user across Microsoft Teams and surfaced two pre-existing product defects.
